In this film, poet Theresa Lola invites pupils to explore Hackney Museum’s temporary exhibition Being African in Hackney, (2021-22).
Pupils are encouraged to take part in activities inspired by objects and stories from the exhibition. Theresa creates and shares her own poetry about identity, influenced by an object in the exhibition and, using their document pack, pupils are encouraged to do the same.
During the film, pupils will be asked to refer to certain pages in this pack to take part in activities.
