What did the Windrush Generation do in Hackney and how did they find living here?
An introduction to the Windrush Generation’s journeys, work and life in Britain using local stories and mystery objects. Pupils will find out about how the Windrush Generation made Hackney their home through food, music and community. They will celebrate the contributions of the Windrush Generation on Hackney with a carnival in the museum. This session includes object handling, oral history interview quotes and dressing up.
