Strike a Light

What were working conditions like in Victorian Hackney?

This session focuses on the Matchgirls’ Strike of 1888, which took place in nearby Bow. Pupils will follow in the footsteps of the Matchgirls by making their own match boxes and putting on their own strike in the museum.
