In the summer term, we run sessions with Hackney Historic Buildings Trust in St Augustine’s Tower, Hackney’s oldest building. The session begins at Hackney Museum where students explore the stories of different stories of people who have moved to Hackney from the Georgian era to the present day. Pupils then walk to St Augustine’s Tower to explore the tower and learn more about how Hackney transformed from a village to the busy borough it is today.
The Tower has 135 steps and may not be suitable for all classes. You can see our visual story to determine whether a visit is suitable for your class.
These sessions are only available during the summer term. To be notified of availability, sign up to our teachers’ newsletter.
