Image Reproduction

If you would like to purchase an image from Hackney Museum to reproduce in your exhibition, publication, blog, new merchandise or for decorative purposes, please contact us at museum@hackney.gov.uk for our up to date fees and charges.

Following a cyberattack in 2020, we are working to make all of our collections available to view online. Over 70% of our records are now available, and images are continuing to be added. Search our collections to see which items already have digital images and to find the object number to help us with your enquiry.

Hackney Museum provides copies of images when a digital copy already exists. Museum staff cannot photograph or digitise material on request.
Images are generally 300dpi jpegs. In some cases 600dpi tifs may be available. If the item has not been photographed (or the existing images do not meet the standards required) then creating a new image is the responsibility of the user. This will be subject to hiring the museum space and covering any staff costs. Please enquire for further information.

For enquiries about on-site filming, please contact the Hackney Film Office: hackney.gov.uk/film. There will be an additional charge for Museum staff time of £200 per day to make the displays and/or collections available.
