Our volunteers support the professional staff at Hackney Museum and Hackney Archives on a regular basis across exhibitions, events, research and collections work, and learning and engagement programmes. Whether you want to develop your skills or give to the local community, we can help you.
Volunteering opportunities at Hackney Museum: Learning Programme volunteer
Our Learning Programme volunteers support museum staff with the delivery of our learning programme for primary schools. Volunteers will get hands-on experience of delivering to school groups in an informal learning environment. You can find out more about the role in the Role Description. Hackney Museum and Hackney Archives accept placement students from a wide range of courses, backgrounds and specialisms, from secondary school to MA or PhD students.
If you’re interested in local history and heritage, migration, community and cultural diversity then a placement with the learning or collections teams at Hackney Museum or Hackney Archives could be just right.
